Eliza Bourassa Learning

Hello
Hi, I am Elizabeth or Miss B! I am your new connection to theatre for Middle through High school, especially the 11th and 12th graders who are finding what they want to do post high school. I went to University of Idaho and got my BFA in Theatre Arts and my bachelor's degree in education with a minor in theatre teaching. I have been on stage and working with aspects of stage since I was 5 years old. I love all things theatre and performance and can't wait to share my knowledge with you all and learn from you all as well.
My Story
Pedagogical Beliefs and Technology: I believe that students learn best through hands on activities and opportunities. Arts of all kinds are an important way to engage mind, coordination and versions of communication. Students of all types can speak and provide to the community of art form. I believe students need help and support in their learning, but I do not think the teacher always has to be the front and center of that learning. Especially in theatre or any arts, students should learn from feedback, and peers.
I honestly do not favor technology but like most things it is a necessary evil and as long as it is used for a specific project, assignment, or to gather research and information it is very important. Students sometimes especially with theatre may need some sort of technology whether an online PDF of class materials, or sound/light real theatre technology components. Technology will need to be used for class or personal use but on most days, it will be only specific types and use of technology for specific class aspects.
